Today is all about formals. We had so much fun doing ours that they weren't very "formal". I LOVE the way they all came out. The pictures most certainly speak for themselves.
Next week is all about the "details".

Happy Mondayyyy!! It definitely feels like a Monday today.
Anyways, before I get to my His & Hers Valentine's Gift Guides I wanted to share my two outfits from this weekend for those that don't follow me on Instagram. Both pretty simple and casual. I think what sets me apart from other fashion bloggers is that my style tends to be more casual (read: not a lot of heels) but I still think I'm fashionable. Right?! I will say that my style tends to be more casual in the colder months and I think it's because I very much dislike being cold so come spring/summer you will see a bit dressier outfits from me and no sneakers :) Dreaming already!!

I wore the jacket on the left but originally had the blazer on (love elbow patches!). I liked both ways so I figured I'd share. We were going to a hockey game so I thought the cargo jacket was a bit more appropriate. I wear more sneakers on the weekends vs. flats because they are easier to maneuver around in the snow. If I'm not wearing sneakers, it's boots.
Onto gift guides - I tried to choose items that weren't a bit less typical as I'm not a huge gift giver on this holiday in the sense of money. I prefer date night at home or more meaningful, homemade gifts. Enjoy!

Ain't that the truth. This week has been crazy with all the snow & cold weather. Oh and it looks like possibly more snow Sunday. Ugh!

Ready for more??
We were married (and partied) in a botanical garden in our area. It's one of the most unique (I think) venues around here and not many people knew of it or if they did, didn't realize weddings could take place there. Being a botanical center, you would think I didn't need a lot of flowers. Wrong, kinda. The venue had lots of beautiful greenery, not a lot of flowers. You could do without them but they were the biggest color in our wedding and really made the vision come to life. Our colors were grey & purple and they really popped against the greenery. I tried to keep the decor as simple as my vision would allow ;)
p.s. I feel like I was ahead of the game with this years Pantone color of the year being radiant orchid.
Josh's mother passed away in 2005 so we really wanted to honor her at the wedding. Orchids are her favorite flower so we had them placed on the bench at the front with a note that read "the love between a mother and son is forever".
That purple chandelier might be one of my favorite details!
You see the ugly cry?? Yeah I'm proud of it. It shows so much emotion and I LOVE that picture with my dad.
Funny story, I do the left and right hand motion sometimes when I drive so Josh squeezed my hand to let me know which hand to put his ring on. I still messed it up. As I was putting the ring on his wrong finger and I guests were telling me "wrong one, wrong one" but I didn't hear them. After I put it on, he took it off put it not the correct finger. Tell me I'm not the only one ;)
Josh's mother's side of the family is greek so in addition to that we did a toast of ouzo, a greek liquor, right before the first kiss.
You may now kiss the bride!!
I know I say this every time I post about our wedding, but I truly love going through our pictures again. It was THE BEST day of my life. I wish I could relive it all over again.

How do you feel about Valentine's Day? Love, hate, indifferent? I enjoy doing cutesy things for my husband and spending time together plus all of the pretty pink and sparkly things that come out this time of year! I like to think I show him I love him all year round but it's always nice to do something a little extra special one day a year. Enter the amazing world of DIY! I don't usually spend a lot of money gift, it's more like something I made or cooked and a small gift. One year I did a scavenger hunt, one year it was reasons why I loved him and one year I made breakfast. This year it's a surprise for you and him since I know he occasionally reads the blog ;)
But let's get to the DIY's since there are quite a few.
