April Showers

When I think of rain coats I think of the crinkly plastic ones with frogs on them or bright yellow ones.  Remember those as kids?  Well they've come a looong way!

I actually don't own a rain coat or trench coat so I tend to go without a coat in the Spring or look silly in a semi-winter one.  Glad I found these options!  The bottom striped one does not have a hood but it's adorable and a great bargain!!  I love the floral Nike one, great for those casual weekends!

Happy Dance, it's Friday!!

That's how I feel about Friday this week, how about you?!  This week didn't drag but I felt busy, hence the lack of posting and I've been anxious to hopefully make some headway on a bridal shower I'm planning (procrastination should be my middle name).

Friday Five:

1. loving this floral monogram DIY.  Perfect for Spring and maybe a bridal shower =)

2. picked up this polkadot pencil skirt last week and I can't wait to style it!

3. This cartoon of a real life love story will definitely get you choked up! Definitely a must watch.

4. This is my new favorite beauty product!  love it!

5. I always wonder when I see (and usually miss!) "National Pancake Day" or "National Doughnut Day" where they came from and are there more?!  I'm still trying to find out where they come from but over at Reasons to Skip the Housework you can download a free printable that lists all of April's bizarre holidays so you're sure not to miss one again!  I'm interested in April 12th, 29th and 30th!  yum!  Which ones would you want to participate in?

And I'm going to add a weekly Friday Funny to my Friday Five because why not?  Everyone loves to laugh.  This week we're talkin margaritas =)

Dresses & Sneakers

Even though it's 30 degrees and snowing where I am, I think I found my spring & summer uniform this year.  It's no surprise to you guys that I love sneakers and would gladly wear them daily if I could.  When I came across Sincerely, Jules'  blog (just today! how is that possible?!) I was filled with inspiration to combine all of my dresses and sneakers!  There are so many combinations you can do and it's such effortlessly chic look!  You may just see an outfit post in the near future featuring this look ;)

Tuesday Shoesday

The hardest part of blogging, for me, is coming up with a good title.  Anyone else?  Bueller? p.s. I apologize for the lack of postings Friday & Monday.  

This entire post will not consist of all shoes BUT I did want to share the three pairs I snagged a few weekends ago which are the perfect Spring additions.

The color blue of these ALDO flats is stunning in person.  Who doesn't need pink (color not online) GAP flats for Spring ?  Why have I never tried LOFT flats?  And this neutral color is perfect!

Not your Grandma's wallpaper

When I started this blog I had intentions of talking about things other than fashion and today is one of those days.  If you've been following along you know my husband and I bought a house last May (before our wedding).  We've been slowly (really slowly) fixing it up.  One thing I've been wanting to do is wallpaper something.  First it was the dining room wall (which will now be painted with stripes) and now it's the makeshift "entryway".  We don't have a designated entryway into our house (which goes right into the living room) but it is slightly inset so I thought what a great idea to wallpaper the two walls you see when you first walk in to separate it a bit?!

 Let me paint the scene of what I hope our living room is to look like -black & white striped rug, blue couch(es), grey walls, gold accents (have this table) and pops of yellows/green/pinks.  It's open to our dining room and kitchen so I want them to coordinate without matching.  Here are some image that have me inspired for the living room.    1. 2. 3. 4.

Now to decide which wallpaper (the tough part).  I turned to Pinterest, of course, for inspiration.

I have always LOVED this pattern.  Comes in many colors, maybe grey or black.  Could work.
